New Logo Sends Message: Eat Local
9-06-2007
When local restaurateurs, farmers and foodies banded together to raise awareness around eating local, they sought a fresh visual identity for their cause. For that, they turned to Oliver Russell.
The Treasure Valley Food Coalition - a nonprofit, grassroots movement that functions as a food service council for the Treasure Valley - loved the homegrown feel of a rough hand-drawn tractor created by OR designer, Toby Robin. A seedling sprouting from the tractor's exhaust stack alludes to reduced CO2 emissions when we all buy local. Pumpkin-orange, pea-green and potato-brown (this is Idaho, after all) evoke the harvest and project the agricultural and eco-friendly ideals of TVFC.
Oliver Russell donated design services to the TVFC as part of our community giving campaign (o-pen purse) to educate and inspire each of us to reduce our CO2 footprint. To learn more about the food council, visit http://www.treasurevalleyfoodcoalition.com.
