Caitlin Copple Masingill joined the Oliver Russell family as Public Relations Director this week. After her finger steak lunch on Day 2, she’s confident she’s the fast favorite of office dog, Roux, if no one else.
“I’m not sure my colleagues appreciated the French fry smells emanating from my desk, but I’m counting Roux’s snuggles as an important early win,” says Masingill.
Other highlights from her first week included dodging stray ping-pong balls while diligently reading up on client projects.
In all seriousness, Caitlin is beyond thrilled to join Oliver Russell where she will sniff out press opportunities for purpose-driven companies and elevate the agency’s many successes in the media.
Her duties will include designing and implementing public relations strategies for clients and telling Oliver Russell’s own story on the national stage, as well as promoting its founder, Russ Stoddard’s, new guidebook for aspiring social entrepreneurs, Rise Up.
Caitlin is a longtime communications consultant and a former journalist. She was the first LGBT person elected to the Missoula, Mont., city council, where she geeked out on economic development and fiber broadband. Most recently, she was a public affairs consultant at the Boise office of one of the nation’s top firms.
Caitlin holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Montana (2007) and a bachelor’s degree from The College of Idaho (2004). Her husband recently told her that she might find more social acceptance if she mentioned Montana less often in conversations with new friends. Despite the number of 406 shirts in her wardrobe, Caitlin is an Idaho native. She loves spending time in the stunning landscapes of Montana (and Idaho), hanging out with her young son, Tollie Gordon, and improving her mediocre golf game.
